EPLSA offers dam linings, geomembrane linings for the agricultural market, coupled with all installation testing to ensure a quality installation and extended design life.
Water is a scarce resource and the containment of the available supply is of paramount importance to the farming and agricultural community. Various types of dams are constructed for the containment of water from Detention, Stormwater catchment or Irrigation dams.
Dam linings areas of consideration for Agricultural lining selection include:
Puncture resistance, the ability to handle hydraulic load, UV resistance, thickness control, penetration details and many more.
Our geomembranes are manufactured from premium resins, thereby ensuring a long-lasting solution for the harsh African climate. The most commonly utilised lining is a High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) geosynthetic liner. Thicknesses depend on the specifics of the application; however various options are available for consideration.
Existing dams can be rehabilitated using a geosynthetic barrier system, thereby extending the operational lifespan significantly. This means that often only minor preparation is required prior to the installation of a dam lining system. EPLSA not only offers a geomembrane supply and installation service, but also a smaller scale civil earthworks service. We will be able to assist with earthworks shaping prior to the lining being installed and we welcome an opportunity to provide technical input as a free facility.
