Floating Cover Dams

Floating covers are dams with a basal lining system, as well as an additional lining system installed on top of the basal lining.This additional lining includes a series of floats and ballasts to enable this lining to float on top of the water mass.

Floating Cover systems are often installed into dams to:

  • Prevent evaporation of the liquid; Prevent organic growth due to UV ingress;
  • Prevent pollution of potable water by dust, pollen or other contaminants;
  • Prevent odours from escaping into the surrounding air space
